Sardinian textures

(2025 - 2026)

In October 2025 I spent a fortnight at the Nocefresca residency in rural Sardinia documenting the textures of rocks through frottage and photography.

Shown below are film photographs and frottage art taken from the coastline of S’archittu and the Sacred Well of Santa Cristina. Frottage art was a new medium for me to document textures and I discovered through the process which tools I preferred to use for the process.

I shot 2 rolls of film whilst in Sardinia and created some digital collages with the developed shots, incorporating some frottage art as well. I would like to develop a photo book with these texture findings in the future.
